Another Look at Super Cupcake Marci!

Hey y'all! I'm posting a bit late today... it's just been one of those crazy days we all seem to have now and then. (*sigh*) But, like I said on my own blog, all stress is gone when I look at these ADORABLE images of Marci (and Luka and their animal friends)!

I've decided I want a super cupcake girl costume just like Marci's! I think I'd surely be capable of slaying all the bad guys with my cupcake charm!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to come back every day for more inspiration and super sweet eye candy. There's lots more GOOD stuff coming up, so stay tuned!!!

Super Cupcake to the Rescue!

Hey everyone...Jana here! Have you all SEEN the new Super Cupcake Marci?? Is she not the CUTEST stamp you've ever seen?!? I so love her!! I have these adorable chipboard cupcake pieces from Mike's that I haven't used yet, so I thought I'd make a big Cupcake tag using one.
I covered the bottom part with some cute dp I recently bought at my LSS (it has cupcakes on the other side, so you'll be seeing more of it!) and then I made some fun pink liquid applique by using my white and adding some regal rose reinker to it. I added that to the top of the cupcake, sprinkled it with some chunky glitter, let it dry a bit, then heated it up to make it puffy. Looks just like frosting...cool huh?
I colored Marci with my copics and cut her out to add her to the tag, then I decided she needed a friend, so I colored in a Tuffy too. Isn't s/he adorable? Here Tuffy is sporting a pink color, so I think he's actually a she here, but s/he's pretty versatile! Lastly, I colored some flowers with my copic markers to layer and add to my cupcake.

Have you been having fun with the new Marci and Luka stamps? We'd LOVE to see what you've created. Be sure to link them up in our Customer Gallery. You never know...you could win the honor of being our Customer of the Month!

My Costume Marci Layout

Halloween is one of the best times to preserve your memories of a fun night trick or treating, or just playing dress up!  Welcome back La La fans, I'm Shantaie Fowler one of the guest designers here. I'm having such a wonderful time working with Marci, Luka and friends!
Witch and Pumpkin Marci are the guests of honor in this not so spooky layout.
When creating a scrapbook, stamps are the perfect way to customize colors! When used as an embellishment they can take an ordinary project and make it extraordinary! What great news, for all of your beloved La La Land stamps!

I have colored Pumpkin Marci and Witch Marci with a combination of prisma pencils and copic markers to match the patterned papers. They were cut out and popped with foam tape for a little added dimension. Aren't they as cute as can be? I hope you will share your layouts using La La Land images in the customer gallery, I will be checking it out daily to see your fabulous work!
Thanks for visiting us today ~ Shantaie

{Super} Explosion Box Tutorial

Hi stampers!  I'm Kristine and I have a fun project tutorial to share with you today using the new Super Star Boy (Luka), Super Hero Window Set, and the Tuffy set... it's called an EXPLOSION BOX!   This is a "spin off" of the tutorial posted on SCS.  I changed a few things like the size, cut my corner "wings" off, and added a rooftop!  I hope you will find this tutorial easy as I took lots of pictures along the way, and as always, you can left click on the pictures to enlarge for detail.

Supplies:
[1] sheet of 12x12 cardtock
[2] sheets of grey cardstock (6.5" square and a 7" square)
[4] sheets of 3 7/8" square designer paper (for inside)
[1] sheet of 3 7/8" square coordinating piece of cardstock
[1] sheet of acetate (or other cardstock for spiral and stand-up tabs)
additional cardstock or images to stand up inside box
Paper trimmer with scoring blade
Scissors
Scallop border punch *Optional
Double-sided tape
Tacky Glue
pencil or pen

Okay, so I'm going to break this down into 4 basic parts:  box, lid, roof, and decorating inside and out.

Box
1)  Start out with a 12" Square sheet of Cardstock.
2)  Score at 4" and 8" and then turn your cardstock 90 degrees and scrore it at 4" and 8" on that side.
3)  Cut the corner squares out, using the scored lines for your guide.  It will then look like this:

4)   Set aside... we'll decorate this later.

Lid
1)  Cut a coordinating piece of cardstock (or heavy designer paper) that's 6 1/2" square.
2)  Score it at 5 1/4" on all sides.

3)  Cut the vertical score lines on 2 opposing sides until they intersect with the horizontal ones.
These will be your inside tabs when we glue the lid together.

4)  *This step is optional.  I used my scallop border punch along all 4 sides to give a cuter overhang.  Then you'll want to cut one side of just the tabs down a bit because the scallops won't line up when you fold the tabs in.

5)  Use strong double-sided tape and adhere to the outside of all tabs and fold in, aligning the corners with the edges of the side strips and pinch together to secure.

6)  Fold up the sides of box and place lid on.  Set aside.

Roof
1)  Cut a piece of cardstock (or DP) that's the same as your lid at 7" square.
2)  Score 1/2" on all sides.
3)  Using a pencil and ruler, draw lines 3" in and 4" in from the ends.  Turn 90 degrees and do the same.  *see picture below.
4)  Now score JUST the inner square that's formed by the drawn lines.

5)  Now measure and cut out 1 1/2" squares in all 4 corners.

6)  Now you need to make 3 score lines (on each of the 4 quadrants).  The first is from the corner of the middle 1-inch square to the corner of the square you just cut out.  The next 2 scores are from the corner of the middle 1-inch square to the points where you scored 1/2" on the sides as in this picture.  DO NOT score all the way through the middle square, just up to the outer corner.

7)  Now you can fold those scored marks.  The 2 outer scores are mountain folds and the middle is a valley fold.  Glue the facing scored sides together as shown.  I use Alene's Tacky Glue because it holds well and dries quickly.

8)  Glue the 1/2" scored edges and fold under.

 9)  Place roof onto top of lid, aligning the corners as much as possible.

Decorating your Box
1)  Remove the lid.  If you want to stamp on the outside (or inside) of your box, you want to do that now.  I stamped the Super Hero Window colored with Copics, and taped to outside of box.  I also printed the phrase "It's a bird... it's a plane... it's..." and added to the roof.

2)  Now it's time to decorate the inside of your box.  First I cut 4 sheets of designer paper, 3 7/8" square for the sides, and one sheet of grey for the bottom (same size).

3)  Now you'll want to gather your elements for the inside!  Here, I stamped and cut out the Super Star Boy and Tuffy, his dog as well as Tuffy's ball and bone, and some stars from the Super Hero Window set (all from http://www.lalalandcrafts.com/).  I also cut out some spirals and stand up tabs out of acetate window sheets to adhere the stars and the stand up pieces to.

4)  I attached one end of a circle spiral (acetate) with a glue dot to the middle of the left side panel.  Then glued the other other end of spiral to the back panel.  Then I did the same with the other spiral to the front panel and the right panel.

5)  To cover up the ends of spirals that we just glued down, I used glue dots again to attach a circle star on top, and then glued stars randomly along each spiral like this:

6)  I made some tabs out of acetate and glued my Star Boy Luka and dog and the ball to the tabs and glued those down on the grey piece.  You could also attach a sentiment if you wish.  Here's a better view of the spirals and then the inside as a whole.

That's it!   Sure to put smiles on any boy... I mean SUPER BOY you know!!  Hope you'll give it a try.  Happy creating!  *Ü*

Happy Halloween with Pumpkin Marci!!

Hello there and Happy Tueday!  Wasn't that most precious card Eva made today? Love the little scene she created.  I am ready to share another card with you today that features Pumpkin Marci!  Isn't she the sweetest?  I just adore the yellow lollipop she is holding.  Her bucket is empty right now, and she is anxious to start Trick or Treating!!

I thought the fun paper pad by Martha Stewart called "Friendly" would be fun to use, 'cause it has lots of candy images!  Now, Pumpkin Marci's ready to fill her bucket with super good treats!!  I even took it a step further and added a Martha Stewart "Friendly Candy" sticker to the top of the bow. which makes for a fun, quick, and whimsical touch to the card !

Don't forget, you still have time to upload your creations to our Customer Gallery!!  I'd love to see what you create with the NEW releases!!

Hope the rest of your week is a GREAT one!  Until next week!

Hugs & Smiles,
Karen

I am not scared

Hello friends, it's Eva here today sharing a card with one of the sweetest little witches I have ever seen, Marci.  I know you have seen quite a few cards made with her, but every single one is so different, don't you agree?  So many fun ways to color them, and get such different creations each time.

For my card I combined We R Memory Keepers, Diecuts With a View papers, the fun 3D pumpkins are by K& Co, and I think they just add so much fun to this card and of course I had to use my spider web Martha Stewart border punch.

Hope you like my little card and I can't wait to see what you get to make with these sweet images, so make sure you upload your creations to our Customer Gallery!

Make sure you come back later this afternoon, as Karen will have another fabulous creation showing on our blog and you don't want to miss that!

Have a fabulous day!

And the trick-or-treating continues!

Hello, everyone! Cheryl here to share a card with you today. Have you fallen in love with all of the new Halloween images? What a silly question that is...of course you have! Do you have a favorite? I know...it's impossible to pick one because each image is so wonderful! They all work so well together and would be awesome for creating a terrific set of Halloween cards, perfect as a gift for someone special.

Today I chose to work with Witch Marci. She is super cute. I colored her with Copics and then layered her up on a bed of Nestie die cuts. I set her against a background of Basic Gray papers from last year's Eerie line. I love these papers!

If you have been playing with your new images or even if you have been showing some attention to your Lala's and Rosie's lately, we want to see your creations! Share them with us in the Customer Gallery and you could be selected to win a prize! We would love to see what you've made ;D

Find Witch Marci and all of the other new images in the Lala Land Boutique ;D Have a bewitching day!

Sweet Pumpkin Marci...

A cutie straight from the pumpkin patch! Pumpkin Marci is NEW from Lala Land Crafts, HERE.
So fun to color...love her shoes! Always have had a weakness for shoes! Marci is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest 80# card-stock and colored with Copic Sketch Markers. I colored her a month or so ago, so I'm not going to be real exact on the colors...pretty sure her shoes are the E40's and the orange is YR12, 14 and 18....can't remember her hair. Seems like the greens are YG41, 45.
Two Martha S. border punches, the fence and the pumpkins and Oval Nestabilities. The word border stamp is from Technique Tuesday, the corner leaf flourishes and the word Autumn are from Inkadinkado. The trees in the background are from Kodomo, a wood mounted tree set.

My post is the Second one for today...scroll down for another adorable new Marci creation!!!

Witch Marci

So what did you think about the La La Land Crafts Halloween/Super Hero Release? Aren't they just the cutest stamps ever? I love them all and I'm having so much fun coloring them with my Copic markers!

For my card today I used Witch Marci, she's a new release designed by the very talented Irina and Eric at La La Land Crafts.  I colored her with Copic markers to match the patterned paper.  Her dress looks black but it's actually purple!    I also used a Silver Copic Spica pen for the buckles on her hat and shoes.  She's cut out with a Spellbinder's die and my card layout is a Mojo Monday sketch from back in August that I really liked.

Witch Marci is one of the wonderful stamps in the Marci Halloween line at  La La Land Crafts!  This cute Halloween line was released just this last week, if you haven't seen it yet run to the La La Land Crafts store because you really don't want to miss these cuties!
